The 60Fitness Exercise for Life Programme is suitable for anyone, no matter how unfit or 'out of shape' you are.
Everyone can get fitter and stronger, no matter what your circumstances.
This programme is personalised to you, wherever that may be. You will start where you are comfortable and will progress at your own pace. You will get fitter and stronger, and feel better on the 60Fitness Exercise for Life Programme
No, it is not necessary to go to the Gym or have any equipment. The programme will be adapted for your circumstances. Most people can achieve a lot with home based exercises. I may recommend some common household items to use as 'weights' or perhaps some cheap and versatile items such as resistance bands.
If you are carrying extra weight and losing weight is one of your goals, then yes, you will lose weight and you will improve your body composition (which means amount of muscle relative to fat). However, this is not a rapid weight loss programme as it is focussed mainly on living longer and living better, so we focus on healthy weight loss (which is at most 2-3kg [4-6lbs] per month. This is important in the over 50's as we need to keep as much muscle as possible.
Most people over 50's have some health problems and take medications. In fact, by taking on a healthier lifestyle which you will develop on this programme can help with many health conditions and in some cases may reduce your need for medication.
As part of the signup process, you will need to complete a health Questionnaire called a PAR-Q before you can start. It is possible that you may need to get clearance from your doctor before starting. It is also possible I may ask you to get further information from your doctor (a medical clearance form) before starting.
In the unlikely event that you are not medically cleared for this Programme, you will not be able to take part and you will receive a full refund for any fees you have paid.
This Programme is personalised, so it works around your circumstances and abilities. You will need some time for exercise, meal preparation and completion the scheduled activities in the App. However, you will learn techniques to incorporate this into your schedule, no matter how busy you are.
You pay in advance for each 4 week block. If you start the programme and decide it is not for you, you are under no obligation to continue or renew the programme after the 4 weeks. You can continue the Programme for as long as you like. You can also take breaks, stop for a while and restart again when it suits you. Your programme will automatically cancel f you do not renew at the end of 4 weeks.
Everything in the Programme is included in the stated Price. You can choose to have additional Coaching Calls which are chargeable but it is up to you to decide if you need it (just let me know and I will send you a booking link).

I am a medical doctor but I am not your doctor. I worked most of my career in research doing trials with new medicines. I have not treated patients for many years. I cannot give you any medical advice and I cannot provide you with prescriptions or recommendations for medicines. I am registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK. You can check the medical register and see my registration here https://www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/3633115. I am registered 'without a licence to practice'. That means I have chosen not to 'revalidate'. Revalidation is an expensive and time consuming process which I don't need as I have retired from any medical practice that requires a 'licence to practice'. I have chosen to remain on the medical register as I remain committed to the values of the medical profession and it provides evidence of my 'Good Standing' with the GMC.
It is possible that I may advise you to consult with your doctor or other healthcare professional about something if I think there is the need for it. It is also possible I may pause or stop your programme pending the outcome of such consultations should it be required. I am happy to work with and liaise with your healthcare professional if you wish, subject to the appropriate consents.
I can give you exercise, nutrition and lifestyle advice. I can also use any of your data and results that you choose to share with me to help guide your exercise, nutrition and lifestyle programme.
